Program Assistant

Being a Program Assistant (PA) for OIEE taught me many lessons and gave me experience I never would have had otherwise. PA’s work directly with international students and professionals to ensure their stay in the U.S. is enjoyable and that they receive a good impression of who we are as individuals and a community. As a PA, I improved my interpersonal communication skills and dynamic group leadership abilities, daily, while still having fun! Many of the groups OIEE hosts at UNC Charlotte are looking to experience some of the amazing locations in our region. For example, I had the opportunity to visit: Charleston; the Biltmore House; the US National Whitewater Center; and many other places! After two years of being a PA, I discovered that not only do I have a deeper understanding of the motivation behind traveling abroad, I have a greater respect for those willing to make such a long journey to pursue their passions for adventure and higher education!
