We work collaboratively with our faculty, partners and providers to create programs that fully engage the learner. Start building your program today; the first step is to contact us. When you do contact us, please provide your topic of study and preferred program dates. Below please find the overall pathway to developing a custom short-term course with OIEE. Staff work with professionals every step of the way to ensure each new program provides quality academics and a well-rounded experience for international visitors.

New Program Development Stages

Step 1: Program Development Stage, Step 2: Initial Proposal, Step 3: Negotiation Stage, Step 4: Program Contract

Step 1: Program Development- Developing a custom program with OIEE starts with an idea to offer a unique program with a specific purpose for a select audience. OIEE works with faculty, businesses, international partners and providers as well as many others to develop all aspects of a program from curriculum design, to cultural excursions/events to program dates and other details. The beauty of our programming is that we can create a program that is unique as you and your attendees—no two programs are alike!

Step 2: Initial Proposal- After discussing program goals and intended outcomes, OIEE will draft an initial proposal which will outline discussed program objectives, per participant costs and the level of services included.

Step 3: Negotiation- At this stage, partners review the initial proposal and have the opportunitiy to suggest changes or ammendements to the program based on further discussion and clarification of goals/objectives with OIEE.

Step 4: Program Contract- The contract confirms our commitment to provide the level of service and programming we have agreed upon and the partner’s commitment to recruit participants for attendance. The contract will state the program dates, course details, minimum number of participants and associated costs.

Established Program Cycle

Program Promotion, Application Stage, Pre-departure, Program Implementation, Post-program Review

Step 1: Program Promotion- As the provider you are closest and most familiar with your targeted participants. You and your team will promote the program and recruit applicants using the creative resources available to you.

Step 2: Application- Applications can be processed in two ways. OIEE can accept applications in-house and issue admission decisions using our agreed upon parameters or you can assess and admit your own applicants, sending us a roster of participant attendees.

Step 3: Pre-Departure- Pre-departure elements of the program include visa processing, securing health insurance and providing the participants with specific program details, often through a virtual pre-departure orientation session. OIEE can take care of as much or little of this step as you’d like.

Step 4: Program Implementation- Our experienced team will support your students from program arrival to departure. We take a hands-on approach to program implementation. Your students will complete the program happy, more knowledgeable and inspired by the program provided.

Step 5: Upon program completion, participant program evaluations will be reviewed and summarized as part of our final reporting process. OIEE also conducts debrief conversations with our partners where parties can discuss areas of program success, aspects of program improvement and plans for our next program together.
