Ms. Corie Crouch – English Language Instructor
Corie began her career as language teacher in California in 1984. Since then she has taught English and Spanish to students of all ages and levels from many different countries. She has a BA in Spanish from Utah State University, a graduate teaching license from California State University-Fresno, and a Masters of Education in TESL from UNCC. She is married to a native of Charlotte and has two sons, two daughters, two daughters-in-law, and one son-in-law. Corie loves to travel, read, watch movies, meet new people, and spend time with her family and friends.
Ms. Lena Ellingburg – English Language Instructor
Right after finishing her BA in Intercultural Communication and Linguistics at Amur State University, Russia, Lena moved to China where she spent 8 years teaching English in a variety of contexts. She took a break from teaching and came to the US to complete an MEd in Secondary Education and later an MA in Applied Linguistics. While she was teaching English at Georgia Tech Language Institute in Atlanta between 2011 and 2018, Lena developed and taught a STEM Vocabulary course and a Chemistry Report Writing course offered to special groups. She also enjoyed coordinating a tutoring center and teaching workshops on cultural and academic topics. Lena moved to Charlotte in 2018 and is teaching English at a local community college while helping her family adjust to their new home. In her free time, Lena loves cooking unfamiliar dishes from around the world, hanging out with friends, and being outside. If she could have a super power, she would want to be able to learn anything and everything she wanted.
