FAQ

Q: How much spending money do you think is required for the program? What is the best way to bring these funds to the US? Should I have cash or use credit cards?

A: It is difficult for us to estimate how much spending money each participant should bring because it is variable depending on the students. We will have cultural activities to a variety of locations around the city as well as shopping trips for groceries and personal items. We suggest budgeting for purchases depending on your own personal shopping habits and any dietary restrictions which may influence your grocery expenses. Keep in mind that some meals are included during the program. Cash or credit cards are the best way to carry funds into the US. Be sure to make necessary arrangements with your credit card company prior to arrival so that your card can be used here. It is very difficult to exchange currency in the US so we recommend that you change it before you arrive in Charlotte (or at your first port of entry).

Q: Will we be able to access the Internet and phone from on campus and at the hotel?

A: Yes.
The entire UNC Charlotte campus is equipped with wireless internet access.
We will provide you with a UNC Charlotte login name and password which will enable you to gain access to the wireless network.
The hotel also has free wireless throughout the premises for your use.

Q: If I arrive earlier than the program start date or stay later than the program end date, do I need to pay for the room?

A: Yes.
You will need to pay for any additional nights of stay at the Holiday Inn by yourself, it will not be included in the program price. You will also be responsible for booking any extra nights.

Q: Can I visit relatives/friends outside of Charlotte during the program?

A: No, the program is designed to be full of events; there is no time to travel during the program. We suggest visiting relatives and friends outside of Charlotte before or after the program.

Q: Is there any certificate once the program is over?

A: Yes.
Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the program.

Q. I would like to know if we have to pay for the cultural activities we will be participating in during the three weeks of this course?
