Language Exchange Program

Born out of the need to provide our students with the most natural and welcoming experience as possible, the Pen Pal Program was designed to build cross-cultural friendships, improve proficiency in target languages, and foster mutual exchange of cultural norms, ideas and perspectives amongst UNC Charlotte students and program participants. This spring, we were fortunate to match fourteen UNC Charlotte student pen pals with nine English for Scientific Purposes program participants based on academic, co-curricular and other mutual interests. Both groups of students get the opportunity to experience a new culture while making new friends and discovering new ways to look at themselves and the world around them.
